Orthokeratology

Correct your vision while you sleep.

An innovative and safe alternative to enjoy every day without glasses or contact lenses. Ideal for active people and children with progressive myopia.

What is keratology?

Orthokeratology, or ortho-k, is an ophthalmic treatment based on the use of contact lenses designed to temporarily reshape the cornea while you sleep.

Once you wake up each day, the cornea of your eye will temporarily maintain its new shape, which in turn enables clear vision during the day without having to wear glasses or conventional contact lenses.

How does it work?

Customised night lenses

The contact lenses are rigid and gas permeable, and can be customised for each patient.

Gentle correction of the cornea

These lenses apply gentle pressure to the cornea, modifying its curvature to correct refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

Clear vision

When you remove your lenses in the morning, your cornea will retain its new shape for a while, giving you clear vision.

Reversible effect

If you discontinue treatment, the cornea of your eye will gradually return to its original shape.

Maintenance of Ortho-K lenses

Daily cleaning

It is vital that you clean and disinfect your lenses every day to remove any deposits and microorganisms.

Regular replacement

Ortho-K lenses must be replaced regularly to ensure good eye health.

Regular visits to the optometrist

You need to visit your optometrist regularly to ensure that your lenses are working properly.
